Assistant Chief Engineer – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for all maintenance activities within a hotel, ensuring guest and member experiences are excellent through daily inspections, equipment repairs, and coordination of renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all maintenance issues across the hotel.
• Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Conduct lift emergency release procedures when required.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment.
• Maintain hotel fixtures and fittings in safe condition.
• Develop, implement, and manage emergency and energy‑conservation programs.
• Coordinate renovation bidding, define scope and cost, and oversee contractors.
• Lead special projects and ensure health and safety compliance, including monthly safety inspections and staff training.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of building management and engineering.
• Hands‑on technical expertise with mechanical systems.
• Engineering degree or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong communication skills and professional grooming standards.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and flexibly.
• Previous experience in a management role.
