Communication Manager

About the role

The Shaggar Institute of Technology is looking for an experienced Communication Manager to shape and execute both internal and external communication strategies. You will ensure that staff stay informed and engaged while representing the institute to media, partners and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans that align with institutional goals.
• Produce newsletters, intranet updates and announcements to keep employees informed.
• Promote transparency by facilitating dialogue between leadership and staff.
• Manage press releases, media inquiries and public statements.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• MA in Journalism, English or a related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Fluent in Afaan Oromo (mandatory), English and Amharic.
• Proven ability to lead communication initiatives and engage diverse audiences.
