Custodian (Level 2) – Church Facility

About the role

This position provides and maintains clean, safe, and reverent spaces for church members to worship, learn, and participate in sacred ordinances. The custodian ensures that each facility reflects the spiritual values and dignity of the community.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas to established standards.
• Operate custodial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums.
• Lift up to 50 lb, push loaded carts, and perform physical tasks like bending, crawling, and reaching.
• Remove and replace draperies, chandeliers, lights, and set up meeting rooms as needed.
• Maintain good public relations and report any problems to the supervisor.
• Handle cleaning agents and chemicals using appropriate safety gear (gloves, masks).
• Use motorized and hand tools for various maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder.
• Understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment.
• Proficient in English for communication, training, and safety instructions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and ask clarifying questions.
• Completion of safety and equipment‑usage training.

Required skills

• Operating buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuum cleaners.
• Handling cleaning chemicals safely with protective equipment.
• Using motorized cleaning equipment and basic hand tools.
