Finance and Investment Department Manager

About the role

Global Insurance SC is seeking a Finance and Investment Department Manager to lead its finance function in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will oversee investment activities, ensure compliance with IFRS, and manage the department’s accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the finance and investment team, supervising daily accounting and reporting activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
• Manage investment portfolios and assess financial performance of insurance products.
• Coordinate with reinsurers and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Implement and maintain accounting software solutions such as Accpac or Core Insurance Solution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in insurance accounting and investment management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Accpac or Core Insurance Solution accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements.
• Experience in insurance accounting and investment analysis.
