Food Security and Livelihood Officer (FSL) – Dessie

About the role

The Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Officer will lead day‑to‑day implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Climate Smart Sustainable Livelihood for Women project in the Tehuledere area. The role ensures that beneficiary selection, community engagement and child safeguarding standards are applied consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor FSL activities in the targeted woreda, working closely with the FSL Project Coordinator and local authorities.
• Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedures and criteria are followed by community mobilisers and committees.
• Collect, document and respond to beneficiary feedback, escalating issues to the FSL manager when needed.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, monthly and quarterly monitoring plans, and annual project reports.
• Integrate child rights and safeguarding considerations into all project components.
• Organise community sensitisation meetings on project modalities, distribution dates and verification requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of distributions and related activities.

Required profile

• Experience working on food security, livelihood or related humanitarian programmes.
• Familiarity with beneficiary targeting, community mobilisation and local government coordination.
• Understanding of child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
