Group Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

About the role

Our client, a diversified Ethiopian business group operating in agriculture, coffee processing, trading and export, is seeking an experienced Group Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to lead and optimise end‑to‑end supply chain and logistics across multiple business units, with a strong focus on international export and import operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated supply‑chain and logistics plans aligned with business requirements.
• Optimise transportation, warehousing, inventory, distribution and logistics costs while establishing SOPs and performance standards.
• Identify operational risks, bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage end‑to‑end export and import processes, including shipment coordination, container positioning, freight forwarding, customs clearance and documentation.
• Monitor vessel schedules, shipment status and coordinate with shipping lines, clearing agents, banks and regulators.
• Coordinate trade‑finance requirements (LC, CAD, TT) with Finance and ensure compliance with contractual and banking documentation.
• Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, stock reconciliation and export readiness.
• Manage fleet utilisation, maintenance, fuel efficiency and related operating costs.
• Lead and develop the Group supply‑chain and logistics team, set KPIs and prepare management reports.
• Drive cost optimisation, process improvement and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade or Business Administration.
• Proven experience managing supply‑chain and logistics functions in a multi‑business environment.
• Strong knowledge of international export/import regulations and customs procedures.
• Experience coordinating trade‑finance instruments such as letters of credit, cash‑against‑documents and telegraphic transfers.
• Ability to work closely with Finance, Sales, Procurement, Operations, Quality and external stakeholders.
