Nutrition Consultant – Office-based with Travel (Addis Ababa)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Nutrition Consultant to support its nutrition programmes in Ethiopia. The role is office‑based in Addis Ababa with regular travel to project sites and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor nutrition programmes.
• Support resource mobilisation efforts.
• Strengthen nutrition information and reporting systems.
• Manage reporting, knowledge management and transition activities.
• Provide technical support for nutrition assessments, surveys, formative research and operational learning studies.
• Assist emergency preparedness and nutrition response in humanitarian contexts.
• Lead capacity‑strengthening, coordination and partnership initiatives.
• Promote nutrition systems strengthening, sustainability and scale‑up.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global health, or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in a developing country in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning, or maternal‑infant‑child health.
• Experience in advocacy, strategic engagement, and multi‑sector nutrition programming is an asset.
• Excellent communication, report writing and analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with emergency operations.
• Fluency in English and Amharic.
