About the role

The Project Cashier will support SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia by handling all cash and cheque transactions related to project activities. This role ensures that payments are received, recorded, and deposited accurately while maintaining strict compliance with safeguarding and financial policies.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and receive payments, issue official receipts, and record transactions.
Deposit daily cash and cheques into the designated bank account.
Review and prepare payment requests, verifying accuracy, completeness, and authorization levels.
Advance cash for authorized expenditures, ensuring supporting documents are complete.
Monitor and reconcile payable and receivable accounts.
Manage petty cash fund, replenish it with the program accountant or finance & admin officer, and process petty cash disbursements with proper documentation.

Required profile

Experience in cash handling, banking, or finance operations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow financial procedures.
Commitment to safeguarding principles and ethical standards.
