Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Programme Management Officer will support UNOPS in expanding its presence in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. Working under the MCO Partnerships Specialist, the role offers exposure to business development, partnership management and program support within an international development environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and follow up new business opportunities and partnership proposals.
• Research donor aid flows, market trends and potential target markets for UNOPS services.
• Prepare proposals, briefing notes, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Advocate UNOPS as a preferred partner and maintain contacts with UN agencies, donor governments and NGOs.
• Support the MCO leadership team in implementing and monitoring strategic initiatives and KPI reporting.
• Develop marketing materials, capacity statements and other communication assets.
• Prepare project documents, legal agreements, budgets and assist with meeting logistics.
• Ensure project compliance, quality assurance and knowledge sharing across teams.

Required profile

• Experience in business development, partnership or donor relations within the development sector.
• Strong research and analytical abilities to synthesize market data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report and presentation preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and support senior leadership.
