Recovery Officer – Loan Recovery

About the role

Inkomoko is seeking a Recovery Officer to support its loan portfolio in Gambella. The role focuses on monitoring, following up, and recovering defaulted loans while ensuring compliance with internal policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the credit portfolio and assess risk of potential defaults.
• Identify and escalate repayment irregularities for management action.
• Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports, including PAR analysis.
• Maintain trigger reporting systems for credit impairments and propose corrective actions.
• Support loan officers and compliance officers on non‑performing loans.
• Contact, visit, and remind borrowers of scheduled repayments.
• Conduct post‑disbursement spot checks to verify loan utilization.
• Monitor defaulter repayments to prevent recurrent non‑compliance and maintain target PAR levels.

Required profile

• Experience in loan monitoring, credit risk assessment, or collections.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with borrowers and authorities.
• Ability to conduct field visits and handle documentation accurately.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and capacity to work independently.
