Associate Director – Slate Communications Strategist (Undergraduate Admissions)

About the role

The Associate Director/Slate Communications Strategist will join Drexel University’s Undergraduate Admissions team, overseeing the daily management and strategic use of the Slate CRM for first‑year and transfer applicants. This hybrid role combines leadership, communication planning, and technical oversight to ensure the university’s values are effectively conveyed to prospective students.

Key responsibilities

• Build, review, and launch communications through Slate, including recipient list creation, rule configuration, and query management.
• Maintain and expand query libraries to support admissions and communication needs.
• Onboard and support new team members on Slate usage.
• Supervise a small team of professional staff, handling goal setting, performance reviews, training, and escalated issues.
• Design and generate communication reports and audits for mailings and applicant selection.
• Act as liaison with the Academic Information Systems team to ensure system efficiency and quality.
• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term student recruitment strategies and manage a small recruitment territory.
• Lead presentations to students and families about Drexel’s recruitment approach.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising staff and managing projects in an admissions or enrollment setting.
• Ability to travel up to two weeks each in fall and spring and work occasional evenings or weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Slate CRM, including building queries, lists, and communication workflows.
