Country Sales Manager – Ethiopia

About the role

Our client is looking for a highly driven Country Sales Manager to lead in‑market execution and drive commercial success in Ethiopia. You will be responsible for ensuring strong distributor performance, optimal product availability, and excellent trade execution across all channels in a dynamic FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily engagement with the appointed distributor to ensure efficient sales operations.
• Track sales performance, monitor stock levels, and oversee payment compliance.
• Guide distributor sales teams to achieve strong product representation, effective distribution across wholesalers, modern trade, pharmacies, and retail.
• Oversee planning and execution of POSM and trade campaigns, aligning activities with brand strategy.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and promotional insights, and provide actionable reports.
• Deliver weekly sales reports, monthly performance and stock reports, and quarterly business reviews.
• Assist with claims documentation, ensure policy adherence and audit compliance.
• Lead and develop a team of Sales Representatives through coaching and training.
• Support broader business operations and market development initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of FMCG sales and distribution experience.
• Proven track record in managing distributors and driving execution.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Solid understanding of the Ethiopian FMCG landscape.
• Current residence in Ethiopia.
