Education Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Education Manager to lead the delivery of the PM3.0 core package in schools across the Woldia‑North Wollo area. The role involves close collaboration with partner organisations to ensure project targets are met and that education services are inclusive for all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Support the country office in developing and implementing strategic education initiatives aligned with IRC’s mission.
• Represent IRC’s education programmes in regional, zonal and woreda cluster coordination meetings.
• Identify critical education needs of crisis‑affected communities and contribute to rapid assessments, concept notes and proposals.
• Capture and disseminate lessons learned from partner‑implemented projects.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring and technical guidance to partners delivering the PM3.0 core package.
• Liaise with government officials and system actors to ensure effective programme planning and implementation.
• Undertake additional tasks as requested by managers.

Required profile

• Experience managing education programmes in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with implementing partners and government stakeholders.
• Strong monitoring, reporting and analytical skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education for boys, girls, persons with special needs and other vulnerable groups.
