Generalist Field Officer 2

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) seeks a Generalist Field Officer 2 to support the identification, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian projects across a defined area of responsibility. The role involves frequent travel, field coordination, and representation of the ICRC at the local level.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the humanitarian, security, socio‑economic, cultural and political environment within the assigned area.
• Collect, compile, translate and interpret information for project reporting.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of field projects in areas such as protection, assistance, cooperation and communication.
• Maintain contacts with local authorities, armed groups, NGOs, Red Cross/Red Crescent societies and the civilian population.
• Participate in internal and external meetings and provide analysis of emerging trends.
• Support administrative follow‑up of field missions and share relevant information with colleagues.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian or field‑based work, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in challenging environments.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to produce clear written reports.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for networking with diverse stakeholders.
