Hub HRH Coordinator

About the role

The Hub HRH Coordinator provides technical, operational, and managerial leadership for Jhpiego's Area Implementation Team within an assigned geographic hub in Ethiopia. The role translates national Human Resources for Health strategies into high‑quality implementation across regional health bureaus, zonal departments, health offices, primary care units, hospitals, and educational institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated implementation of project strategic objectives and translate work plans into detailed hub implementation schedules.
• Provide first‑line technical oversight for competency‑based education, accreditation, continuing professional development, workforce planning, digital HRH systems, and organizational strengthening.
• Maintain productive relationships with government health structures and professional associations to promote country ownership and sustainable HRH reforms.
• Supervise and mentor Hub HRH Advisors, support staff, and consultants, ensuring high performance and collaborative team culture.
• Coordinate professional association sub‑awards, monitor technical quality, and strengthen partner capacity.
• Ensure consistent technical quality through field monitoring, supportive supervision, and regular audits.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in health workforce development, HRH systems strengthening, or related public health fields.
• Proven leadership and managerial skills in multi‑partner, multi‑site environments.
• Strong ability to engage government stakeholders and promote sustainable, country‑led reforms.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of competency‑based education, accreditation processes, and continuing professional development.
• Experience with digital HRH information systems and workforce planning tools.
