Internal Auditor – 6-month Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

Camara Education Ethiopia is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to strengthen financial accountability and compliance across its projects. The role will support the Country Director and senior finance team by reviewing financial systems, monitoring donor requirements and improving internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic internal audits of financial, operational, procurement and compliance processes.
• Review and recommend improvements to internal control systems.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assess daily financial transactions for compliance with organizational and donor procedures.
• Review monthly financial reports and schedules before submission to headquarters.
• Monitor adherence to donor agreements, government regulations and internal policies.
• Support budgeting, financial planning and cash‑flow monitoring activities.
• Identify financial and operational risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare audit findings, reports and recommendations for management.
• Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and support external audit processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field (preferred).
• ACCA qualification or partial ACCA certification (highly preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in internal or external auditing.
