Grants Manager – Addis Ababa

About the role

The Grants Manager will coordinate the full lifecycle of grant proposals and ensure high‑quality monitoring, reporting and compliance for donor‑funded projects in Ethiopia. Working closely with the Country Director, Programme Director and Operations Director, the role supports both internal teams and external partners to meet donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, submission and management of grant proposals from identification to final reporting.
• Design, update and implement internal technical and financial monitoring tools, ensuring timely monthly submissions to headquarters.
• Provide technical training and back‑stopping to field teams and local partners on donor compliance and reporting.
• Coordinate project reporting calendars, prepare narrative and financial reports, and manage communications with donors.
• Maintain project documentation, update databases, and support external audits and evaluations.
• Act as the focal point for headquarters and the national office on all grant‑related matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grant management, donor compliance and proposal development within the development sector.
• Strong understanding of donor rules, regulations and reporting standards.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to train and support field staff and partners on technical aspects of grants.
