Treasury & Tax Specialist – Finance Team

About the role

The Treasury & Tax Specialist will lead tax compliance and treasury operations within the Finance team, reporting to the CFO. This role collaborates across departments and manages key relationships with banks, customers and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file statutory tax declarations (VAT, WHT, payroll, customs, import) accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly tax ledger reconciliations and maintain documentation for all tax transactions.
• Develop tax strategy to manage liabilities while ensuring full compliance.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors and lead tax audit processes.
• Monitor tax legislation changes and assess business impact.
• Drive automation and process improvement in tax reporting.
• Execute timely bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
• Monitor daily cash positions, forecast cash flow and manage working capital.
• Prepare and process local and foreign payment schedules.
• Manage banking relationships, negotiate credit and investment terms.
• Implement foreign exchange risk management policies.
• Enhance treasury systems through technology integration for real‑time data access.
• Conduct regular tax health checks and identify financial/compliance risks.
• Prepare treasury and tax reports, variance analysis and support month‑end and year‑end close.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA or MSc is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and treasury operations.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
