Accountant

About the role

Sololo Engineering PLC is seeking a full‑time Accountant to join its finance team in Addis Ababa. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day financial operations that keep our engineering projects running smoothly and ensure compliance with Ethiopian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare periodic financial statements and support budget preparation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including bank reconciliations and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, prepare tax filings, and assist with internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with project and operations teams to provide accurate financial data for cost control and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and audit procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
