Area Sales Manager (FMCG)

About the role

East Africa Bottling Share Company (Ethiopia) is hiring an Area Sales Manager to lead and run sales across assigned territories. The role drives volume growth, revenue targets and market share through effective Route-To-Market (RTM) execution, strong customer relationships, efficient use of resources and the development of a high-performing frontline sales team. It is a permanent position based in Awash, Ethiopia.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure trade execution follows RTM principles across territories to increase sales volume and market share
• Achieve volume growth, net sales revenue growth and greater penetration of key packs
• Build a motivated frontline sales team through coaching and training
• Maintain high customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery
• Distribute and use the right tools, resources and promotional materials across channels

Required profile

• Formal qualification in Marketing, Sales or equivalent
• 5+ years of front-line sales experience in an FMCG environment
• Team management experience is an added advantage
• Applicants must be Ethiopian nationals

Required skills

• Strong understanding of FMCG sales practices, RTM principles and market execution standards
• Ability to coach and mentor team members and resolve disputes equitably
• Strong negotiation skills and clear communication in various formats
• Use of digital platforms for sales optimization and interpretation of sales reports
