B1 Technician - Airframe and Engine Maintenance

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a B1 Technician through its invitation-only Engineering Recruitment Event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in mid-November 2026. The technician assists the Engineer in performing airframe and engine maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft, including inspections, repairs and component replacement, to the required standards and in line with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge before starting work, understanding priorities, documentation needs and cautions.
• Prepare and carry out scheduled maintenance according to task cards, obtaining the right documentation, parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Perform aircraft test and inspection tasks to identify and record defects or damage in line with approved procedures.
• Carry out repairs, component replacements and tests as instructed, using approved data and procedures.
• Draw tooling and equipment from stores and return it in good condition.
• Report task status regularly and alert the Engineer-in-Charge to aircraft condition or work issues.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and manage the safety of assigned tasks, taking mandatory precautions and protecting others with proper equipment.
• Follow human factors, work interruption procedures and ensure adequate access and lighting.
• Support the team and other departments, represent Air Arabia professionally, and keep costs of maintenance in mind.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced civil aircraft maintenance technician.
• At least 2 years' experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
• At least 2 years' experience in a line or base maintenance environment.
• Solid basic understanding of airframe and engine maintenance theory and practice.
• Good reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English for technical communication.
• Ability to use a computer (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to obtain a UAE driver's licence.
