Community Mobilizer

About the role

The Community Mobilizer will support last‑mile implementation of the Faith & Community Initiative (FCI) across selected regions of Ethiopia. Working under the Regional Health Specialist, the role links households, community structures, faith institutions, and health workers to promote health‑seeking behavior and service uptake.

Key responsibilities

• Implement approved community mobilization, health promotion and awareness activities according to the FCI workplan.
• Identify individuals and households needing health services, facilitate referrals to spoke facilities, and follow up on referral completion.
• Maintain regular communication with assigned health facilities, support outreach schedules, and strengthen bidirectional communication between communities and health facilities.
• Document and report all mobilization, outreach, and referral activities using approved tools, and escalate sensitive cases through established channels.
• Participate in FCI training, coaching, and supervisory sessions, and share community feedback and implementation challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Community Health, Public Health, Community Development, Social Work, Sociology, Health Education, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a diploma, preferably working with local communities, health facilities, or faith structures.
• Fluency in English and the local language(s) of the assigned district.
