Consultant – Sustainable Animal & Aquatic Foods Exchange Program

About the role

The Sustainable Animal and Aquatic Foods (SAAF) Science Program seeks an experienced consultant to design, coordinate, and facilitate a South‑South exchange visit linking livestock and aquaculture stakeholders from Africa and Asia. The assignment runs from 22 July to 15 November 2026 and aims to foster knowledge sharing, innovation diffusion, and collaborative partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive concept, learning objectives, and detailed implementation plan for the exchange.
• Define participant selection criteria, support nomination processes, and manage the recruitment of farmers, officials, and SAAF representatives.
• Identify and secure host institutions, field sites, and meeting venues in Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.
• Coordinate all logistics, including travel, accommodation, local transport, visa facilitation, and safety protocols.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagements, preparatory briefings, and on‑site interactions.
• Document lessons learned, produce knowledge‑sharing outputs, and ensure visibility of the program.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing international development or agricultural exchange programs.
• Strong understanding of livestock, aquaculture, and One‑Health approaches.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight timelines.
