Junior to Mid-Level Accountant

About the role

System Elements, which builds digital tools for event registration, attendance tracking and visitor management, is hiring a Junior to Mid-Level Accountant. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, working closely with senior finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Prepare routine financial reports and support monthly and annual closing
• Help reconcile bank and system accounts
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide clear financial information and support audits as needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ACCA, CPA or similar certification is an advantage
• Prior accounting or finance experience (internship or 1-3 years) is beneficial, especially in a technology or services company
• Ability to work on-site in Addis Ababa and handle confidential financial information professionally and ethically

Required skills

• Accounting principles: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and basic tax concepts
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel, including spreadsheets, financial models and reporting tools
• Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and strong organization
• Analytical thinking and effective written and verbal communication
