Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe execution of all maintenance activities on production equipment, ensuring on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) delivery while adhering to food‑safety (HACCP) and safety standards. The role supports continuous improvement by reducing waste, improving key performance indicators and fostering a sustainable environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and corrective maintenance safely, following LOTO, minor‑intervention and HACCP procedures.
• Perform overhaul maintenance on assigned machines and prepare critical‑parts lists.
• Tag and detag equipment, hand over machines to operators, and record work orders in the maintenance control system.
• Coach and train operators and junior technicians, conduct CILT audits and support RCFA/BDA (5‑why) investigations.
• Maintain the workplace according to 5S standards and keep maintenance documentation up to date.
• Communicate with operations before, during and after maintenance to ensure smooth change‑over management.
• Identify and procure spare parts, support maintenance planning and structured fault‑finding.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or food‑production environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols (LOTO) and food‑safety standards (HACCP).
• Ability to coach operators, conduct audits and participate in continuous‑improvement projects.
• Good organizational skills to keep work areas and documentation aligned with 5S.
