Project Manager – FRESHWAY Project (contingent on funding approval)

About the role

SNV is seeking a Project Manager to lead the four‑year FRESHWAY project in Ethiopia. The role combines overall project leadership with a technical focus on strengthening food‑safety policies and regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, launch, monitor and close the FRESHWAY project in line with donor contracts, budget, timeline and quality standards.
• Coordinate policy‑reform activities, supporting the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority on pesticide‑residue monitoring and Ethio GAP implementation.
• Oversee the establishment of private‑sector aggregation hubs, cold‑chain infrastructure and market‑linkage initiatives.
• Facilitate export‑promotion activities, including the use of the Modjo cool port.
• Lead capacity‑building programmes for agrologistics, certification and post‑harvest management.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing development projects in agriculture or food‑safety sectors.
• Strong understanding of policy analysis, regulatory compliance and food‑safety standards.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, private investors and training institutions.
