Social Policy Intern – 5‑Month International Internship in Addis Ababa

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Intern for a five‑month international internship in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The position is open to non‑Ethiopian nationals and supports the Social Policy Section in delivering cash‑transfer programmes and related social protection interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and provide data support for cash‑transfer programmes.
• Analyse, compile and organise quantitative and qualitative evidence related to cash‑transfer initiatives.
• Conduct desk‑based reviews of assessments, post‑distribution monitoring reports, programme documents and administrative data.
• Summarise key findings on vulnerability, inclusion and programme performance for internal analysis and planning.
• Contribute to donor reports, annual reports and programme summaries focused on social protection and equity.
• Document lessons learned, best practices and emerging evidence from ongoing programmes or pilots.
• Assist in drafting analytical outputs related to cash‑transfer interventions.

Required profile

• Non‑Ethiopian national eligible for an international internship.
• Interest in social policy, cash‑transfer programmes and child protection.
• Strong analytical and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
