Specialty Analyst

About the role

Volcafe Ltd is seeking a Specialty Analyst to join its commercial team in Addis Ababa. The analyst will support sourcing of Ethiopian specialty coffees, work closely with growers and exporters, and promote these coffees to global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and build relationships with specialty coffee suppliers across Ethiopia.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of available coffee lots.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control team to produce and share sensory evaluation reports.
• Organise training sessions and events for high‑quality coffee suppliers.
• Lead projects and create content for the specialty coffee community.
• Oversee smooth execution of specialty coffee purchases with the execution team.
• Act as a key resource for stakeholders in the specialty supply chain.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in coffee production, processing, specialty sourcing, supply‑chain coordination, or related agri‑commodity operations.
• Experience working in a modern coffee laboratory; dry‑mill experience is a plus.
