About the role
SNV, a global development partner, is seeking a Treasury Officer for its Ethiopia operations. The role ensures that all payment requests and tax matters comply with SNV policies, donor regulations, and Ethiopian government requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Verify that payment requests adhere to SNV Ethiopia policy and donor guidelines.
- Prepare and file tax returns on time, ensuring compliance with tax authority deadlines.
- Maintain financial registers, assign proper fund/account codes, and keep financial documents organized.
- Prepare payment vouchers, process disbursements, and follow up on cash/check deposits from travel and project advances.
- Record cash receipt invoices, deposit funds into the appropriate bank accounts, and register checks sequentially.
- Book compliant transactions in the SBD system after analytical review.
- Provide advice and support to program and project managers on financial policies and applicable laws.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of financial management, tax compliance, and donor regulations.
- Experience in handling payment processing, cash management, and financial documentation.
- Ability to work accurately with financial registers and ensure proper approval of source documents.
- Good communication skills to support program teams and ensure compliance.
