About the role
Awash Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Officer I to join its team in Addis Ababa. The position is designed for candidates with a solid foundation in insurance underwriting, claims handling, and reinsurance, and offers the opportunity to contribute to the company’s commitment to excellent, digitally‑enabled service.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite insurance policies and assess associated risks.
- Assist in processing and evaluating insurance claims.
- Support reinsurance activities and coordinate with reinsurance partners.
Required profile
- BSc/BA degree in Marketing Management, Accounting & Finance, Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in underwriting, claims, or reinsurance within the insurance industry.
- Preferred age group: below 35 years.
Required skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership abilities.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Highly motivated and capable of performing duties with minimal supervision.
