Wildlife Conservation Officer – Ethiopia

About the role

The Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority seeks a dedicated Wildlife Conservation Officer to support the protection and sustainable management of Ethiopia’s wildlife, national parks, and protected areas. The role involves field monitoring, data collection, community outreach, and collaboration with park staff and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Support wildlife conservation and protected‑area management activities.
• Conduct field monitoring and collect wildlife data.
• Assist in community awareness and conservation outreach programs.
• Prepare conservation activity reports and related documentation.
• Collaborate with park staff, researchers, and local communities.
• Support biodiversity protection and eco‑tourism initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote field locations.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian wildlife and protected areas is an advantage.
