Pharmacist – Full-time, On-site in Chiro

About the role

The Ethiopian Health Profession Students Association (EHPSA) is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join its team in Chiro on a full-time basis. You will support the organization’s health initiatives by ensuring safe and effective medication use for students and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescribed medicines and verify prescriptions.
• Provide medication counseling to clients, students and community members.
• Monitor for drug interactions and adverse effects, documenting findings.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, storage, and record-keeping.
• Maintain compliance with national pharmacy regulations and EHPSA quality standards.
• Participate in health education sessions, trainings and outreach activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on student health projects.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Pharmacy.
• Solid knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics and standard treatment guidelines.
• Experience in medication dispensing, inventory management and documentation in a clinical or community setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety and confidentiality.
• Willingness to work on-site in Chiro and engage in occasional community outreach.
