Senior Transport Coordinator (Freight Forwarding Operations)

About the role

AGL Logistics Ethiopia, a multimodal logistics operator with eight sites across the country and a presence of over ten years, is hiring a Senior Transport Coordinator (M/F) in Addis Ababa. The role covers freight forwarding operations and transport coordination for imports and exports, and is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all transport matters for imports and exports, including truck allocation and delivery times.
• Maintain delivery schedules, track deliveries and update customers and managers on tracking information.
• Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns and licensing problems.
• Analyze delivery costs and recommend more cost-effective transport methods.
• Negotiate contracts with external transport companies, handle customer complaints and investigate damaged, late or lost deliveries.
• Develop policies and procedures for transport supplier selection and review staff requirements, recruitment, training and scheduling.
• Provide performance reviews, mentor transport and driving staff, and hold weekly or monthly safety meetings.
• Assist with budget, fiscal and inventory control programs and ensure administrative requirements are completed on time.

Required profile

• Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Transport Management.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Team player, self-starter and problem solver who can work to tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Good time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Computer literacy and good email communication.
• Ability to take initiative, organize and plan own work.
