Social Policy Intern – 5‑Month International Internship in Addis Ababa

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Intern for a five‑month international internship in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The position is open to non‑Ethiopian nationals and offers the chance to contribute to cash transfer programmes that support vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and support evidence for cash transfer programmes, including quantitative and qualitative data.
• Assist with desk‑based reviews of assessments, post‑distribution monitoring reports, programme documents, and administrative data related to social protection.
• Summarize key findings on vulnerability, inclusion, and programme performance to inform internal analysis and planning.
• Contribute to donor reports, annual reports, and programme summaries focused on social protection and equity.
• Document lessons learned, best practices, and emerging evidence from ongoing pilots.
• Draft analytical outputs such as internal briefs, presentations, and learning summaries.
• Support monitoring and evaluation activities, including review and documentation of existing monitoring frameworks.
